An Indonesian duo that has been pioneering at the intersection of tribal music, industrial, and experimentation for over a decade. Rully Shabara’s voice and Wukir Suryadi’s “modern-primitive” instruments create an intense, ritualistic sound, rooted in tradition yet radically contemporary.

The band has performed at Primavera Sound and London’s Café Oto, and their 2021 album Alkisah was released simultaneously by over 40 labels worldwide. Senyawa has collaborated with artists such as Oren Ambarchi, Keiji Haino, and Stephen O’Malley.
