Matthias BRODBECK – stone slabs, stone gongs and percussion instruments
Beat UNTERNÄHRER – trombone
Sebastian STRINNING – tenor saxophone and bas clarinet

The Stone Alphabet is another group of performers who will appear at the 11th edition of the CODES Festival of Traditional and Avant-garde Music .

The instant composed music will be created with and around stones. Unprecedented sounding stone instruments connected with seemingly familiar instruments will bring to life the sounds of a forgotten language.

The un-heard alphabet will consist of many different stones, lithophones, piano, bass clarinet, saxophone, quarter tone clavinet, trombone, sine wave generator, synthesizer, drums and gongs.

Listening to their fantastic sound of stories and landscapes, we could be surprised how familiar can become the unfamiliar and vice versa.
